Synology’s Hyper Backup utilities provide a solid complement to your Synology NAS and overall backup strategy. Synology provides a useful Hyper Backup tutorial covering both file backup and restore from a Synology NAS here. Clicking on the backup job, browsing to the desired file and clicking restore will recover a backed up file. Restoring files or entire backups to the NAS can also be performed directly on the NAS via Synology Hyper Backup.
I have a Synology NAS for my house and have setup own backup cloud. Via this app, you can locate and restore a file directly to your PC. Synology also provides free Windows and Linux apps called Hyper Backup Explorer that I tried out on a Windows 10 PC.
